This research investigates methods for using lidar as a means of real time interaction. The framework developed, takes the raw point cloud data and converts it into trackable coordinates for visitors in the room. Early versions of this research used machine learning as way to interpret the point cloud into trackable objects. This was achieved by using Unity to generate a simulated custom dataset. Once the method was confirmed in the simulation environment, the model was fed live lidar data and successfully tracked target objects.
